Playboi Carti was found guilty for allegedley attacking a tour bus driver.

According to the BBC, the incident occurred in February 2018 in Gretna, Scotland, during his European trek. Carti was accused of punching the driver and smashing bus windows after the vehicle experienced mechanical issues. On Thursday, the Dumfries Justice of the Peace Court convicted Carti of the charges and gave him a $909 fine: $570 for the alleged assault and about $350 for the bus damages.

The altercation happened after Carti and his team were forced to transfer vehicles. The BBC reports that the heating on Carti’s tour bus began malfunctioning, and when the driver attempted to fix the problem, the bus completely shut down and wouldn’t start again. A backup vehicle was sent for pick up, but it seems the delay caused some serious tension.

Alistair MacLeish, one of the men who was on the replacement bus, told the court he had witnessed Carti assault the original driver.

“I saw things being thrown around the tour bus and then a man ran across and punched the driver on the face, cutting him and knocking his glasses off,” MacLeish said. “It was the accused Carter who had been standing with a group but as two guys tried to restrain him he wriggled past them ran across and punched the driver who stumbled back.”

Carti admitted to damaging the bus, but denied the assault. Two of his tour managers claimed the rapper was acting in self defense; however, MacLeish said the original driver “did not do anything to the rapper and did not retaliation.”

Justice Alan Stannett sided with the drivers.
