TREY SONGZ REVEALS WHY HE DIDN’T CO-SIGN DRAKE AT THE BEGINNING OF HIS RAP CAREER
by Staff Editor
Trey Songz recently had a sit down on Big Boy’s Neighborhood TV, where he discussed the heavy-hit and billboard charting rapper, Drizzy Drake. During the interview Trigger shared that Drake wanted the singer to co-sign him, however he didn’t do it.
According to Trey, he knew Drizzy would have more and better opportunities by not signing to him at the start of his rap career.
“Drake wanted to sign to me and all that early on in his career. I couldn’t do what needed to be done for him at that time. I saw the talent in him,” says Trey. “Now look how he look now. He’s cool as h*ll. His confidence is on heavy. He wasn’t that guy. He was a little nervous – like kind of timid. But when you listen to his music, you can hear that confidence in him. You listen to him sing, you listen to him rap, you could tell that’s what he really wanted to do. You could tell he was smart and that he was going to be good.”
