On Tuesday, AOL confirmed that Lil Jon opened the doors to Mafi Atitekpo DA Primary School in eastern Ghana. The new school was part of the rapper’s support of Pencils for Promise, an organization that builds schools in developing countries.
“Lil Jon is one of our most loyal and passionate celebrity supporters, from his work in the field to donating his birthday to make two schools a reality, he continues to impact education needs for those in rural communities,” said PoP CEO Tanya Ramos when speaking with Entertainment Tonight. “We are thrilled to open the Mafi Atitekpo DA school with Lil Jon and can’t wait to see his impact in action.”
The school was officially inaugurated over the summer and has enrolled more than 300 children. And most credit is given to Jon for this accomplishment, seeing that he donated $70,000.
