Icewear Vezzo Talks About New Single ‘2 Sides’, Working With Zaytoven, & His New Deal With Motown
by Staff Editor
Yesterday (Nov. 9) the #DrankGod also known as Icewear Vezzo dropped his first single since signing his deal with Motown Records. With the track titled as “2 sides,” Vezzo’s new single is produced by long time friend and business partner, Zaytoven.
“I’ve already worked with Zay before, I worked with him before Motown.” Vezzo responds when asked about his collab with the multi-platinum producer. “It’s always an honor to do business with Zay. He’s my favorite producer.”
Vezzo first announced the news about his signing on his 29th birthday. Prior to being signed the rapper had just been released after doing some time for the feds.
“Police was coming up to the businesses that I owned. They told me to shut down my restaurant, I said no. They told me to shut down my car wash, I said no,” says Vezzo. “ Then they started raiding me.”
From there on out, the rappers encounters with the cops became more intense, as he explains that the final straw was when police found him with a gun.
“One thing I learned in jail is you can’t fight the feds,” he says. “I did time for somebody else’s gun.
I’m felon… I was around the gun, but I didn’t know.”
Vezzo did a year-plus bid following the gun charge and came back home to a contract to further his rap career.
“Everything that I been through prepared me for this moment, it was an extra blessing. I was just looking forward to my freedom at first, but then this deal came up.”
Vezzo, the only Motown artist from the Motown area, will now be on the same team as Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, Matt Ox, Migos, Rich Homie Quan, Zaytoven, City Girls, and Gunna among others. Stream his latest single “2 sides” below now.
