Today (Oct. 26) AT&T Prepaid Wireless Portfolio President John Dwyer will be joined by Atlanta-native and Grammy Award Winning singer Monica to announce a significant financial contribution that will give 100 students of the Atlanta Music Project (AMP) full scholarships.

The scholarships will enable junior high and high school students to participate in the newly launched AMP All Star Youth Orchestra & Choir, a first-of-its-kind initiative for Atlanta, bringing together the finest young musical talent from the city’s south and west side neighborhoods to train in classical ensembles.

Cricket Wireless is also supporting AMP because of its commitment to Atlanta. Cricket plans to create experiences that tie the brand’s mission of bringing smiles to customers, as music does.

AMP delivers over 5,525 hours of afterschool music instruction to children in the underserved communities of south and west Atlanta at no cost to students and their families. Cricket’s scholarship contribution will ensure all students in AMP’s All Star Youth Orchestra & Choir will receive instruments, uniforms, transportation and musical accessories, including sheet music and other supplies. In addition, Cricket will support the program by providing a platform for the All Star Youth Orchestra & Choir to perform during prominent special events.
