Recently, Childish Gambino had to reschedule the remainder of his “This Is America” tour until December due to an injury. Gambino was also scheduled for the Austin City Limits Festival on October 12th but will be resting up and healing  from his injury instead .

It was announced that Lil Wayne will be replacing Gambino on the Weekend 2 lineup of the festival. Festival representatives stated on Thursday :

“We’re celebrating Lil Wayne’s birthday today in the best way possible… We’re adding him to the Saturday, Weekend 2 #ACLFest Lineup!”

With his newly released album, being honored for the ‘I Am Hip Hop’ award at the upcoming BET Hip Hop Awards, and now joining the ACL festival, there’s no doubt that Lil Wayne will end the year off right.
