Offset’s Attorney Says He Was Targeted For Being Black & Wealthy

Drew Fiddling, Offset’s lawyer, believes the rapper was specifically targeted by the police officers who pulled him over for being a successful, famous, Black man.
According to TMZ, Fiddling says that Offset didn’t break any laws and says that pulling him over for an improper lane change was basically an excuse used to help them find a reason to get the rapper in handcuffs.
“It’s a common theme. We’re talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry,” said Fiddling.
“Unfortunately, people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity … and that is a sad statement.”
We reported earlier today that Offset was arrested on Friday, July 20 in Georgia according to documents obtained by Bossip after three handguns, marijuana and $107,000 was discovered in his Porsche 911.
Offset was then charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors, including possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a weapon during a crime, possession of marijuana (one ounce or less) and an improper lane change. He was released earlier today on at $17k bond.
Cardi B shared earlier today that the couple was together, happy and insisted Offset was not on probation.
