The Blast got a hold of court documents stating that J.T., whose real name is Jatavia Johnson, turned herself in at a Florida prison on June 29 after being sentenced to 24 months for felony identity theft in January.

It was alleged that the rapper used three different people’s credit cards and spent over $1,000 between September 2016 and April 2017. She was facing up to 10 years in prison, but took a plea deal with the prosecutors.

After sentencing, the court scheduled June 25 to be the day the rapper had to turn herself in. But just a week before she had to check-in, her lawyer filed a motion to delay the surrender-date for 30 days because the City Girls were scheduled to make an appearance at the BET Awards on June 24.

According to The Blast, they asked the judge to consider โ€œthe once in a lifetime opportunity that the Defendant had in front of herโ€ and requested a later date to surrender.

The Blast said J.T.’s lawyer told the judge, โ€œSince the sentencing, the Defendant and her two-girl music group has experienced a meteoric rise in stardom โ€ฆ The Defendant now has over 3 million views on YouTube and they have over one million streams across various platforms. The Defendant is a star…This is due to a recent cosign from Drake (other noticeable cosigns include Migos, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Rick Ross and Trina). It will take three weeks to do the work that needs to be done and then the Defendant can surrender as her first album and its promotion will be done. She can do her time knowing that upon her release her group will be ready to start their second album and tour.โ€

Sadly the judge denied the 30 day delay and gave the rapper only four extra days of freedom. J.T. is set to be released on March 21, 2020.
