Artist: 88rising
Track: Midsummer Madness
Hot Take: Rap is a global genre embraced by a myriad of cultures and complexions. The collective of rappers and singers started as a “Vice for Asian culture” but quickly turned into something bigger. Made up of Japanese, Chinese and Korean artists and entrepreneurs, they take to the blissful pop-rap ‘Midsummer Madness’ as their first track as a new collective.
Artist: Will Claye
Track: Father
Hot Take: ‘Father’ is a call to those who haven’t forgotten to celebrate life at every turn. First introduced on YG‘s 2012 hit ‘IDGAF’. The Olympic athlete trades in his cleats for his new ‘Karmony’ Playlist which consists of another song ‘Celebrate Life’, check out the tracks and let us know what you think.
Artists: L8LOOMER
Track: Good For That (f/ Anne Dereaux)
Hot Take: ‘Good For That’ is my first interaction with the Tampa rapper. The track’s sound encompasses a soundscape of Hip-Hop and Dance elements, christened with the chilling voice of Anne Dereaux lining the song like an ice-filled glass of lemonade on a hot summer day.
Artist: Dave B.
Track: David
Hot Take: The Seattle native embodies what the next level of Hip-Hop artist have when it comes to Rap becoming the next “Pop Music”, an ear for melodies, impeccable flow and a skill for writing. ‘David’ is at the crossroads of all that, and make sure you say his whole name.
