Civil Court: 2018 Grammy Awards Predictions

Record Of The Year:
“Redbone” — Childish Gambino
“Despacito” — Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Featuring Justin Bieber
“The Story Of O.J.” — Jay-Z
“HUMBLE.” — Kendrick Lamar
“24K Magic” — Bruno Mars
Our Take: “Despacito” was possibly the biggest record of the past year. In a category that examines everything from the performance of the artist to the producers to the engineers, a song that was hitting on all cylinders such as “Despacito” will corral the attention of the Recording Academy instantly.
Album Of The Year:
“Awaken, My Love!” — Childish Gambino
4:44 — Jay-Z
DAMN. — Kendrick Lamar
Melodrama — Lorde
24K Magic — Bruno Mars
Our Take: While we would love to see Jay-Z or Kendrick Lamar take it home, the hits, success, and popularity of Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic have all the makings of the album to bring home the trophy. Besides, we don’t expect for the Grammy’s to be that much in love with hip-hop this year. However, don’t be surprised to see some love for Lorde.
