Civil Scope: Molly Brazy
by Staff Editor
How would say the music that’s heard on Big Brazy stands out in comparison to your previous work?
Molly Brazy: This mixtape was more thought out than any of my others. I tried to sum up the whole year because I have been through a lot. I wanted it to be a little bit different with various vibes on it. My videos are different, too. They’re not going to be expecting me to be on set. Usually it’s just me in a backyard, building, something [laughs]. The songs were really thought out. I love my music, period, but I really went back and listened to my song, cut them, put them back on. It just took a lot to have this mixtape be what I wanted it to me.
Do you have a favorite record from Big Brazy that you’re completely in love with?
Molly Brazy: I know “Play For Keeps” is one of my favorites. “Draco” is another one.
You landed a big name in Trina to collaborate with. Tell us a bit about how that all went down.
Molly Brazy: Well, someone was coming to the studio. I guess just to see how I vibe. He heard me in there rapping was like, “You know what she would sound sweet on? That “Nann” song by Trina. So, we pulled the sample up and I knew I had to get on it. Then, she got on it and made it do what it do [laughs].
What do you have in store for 2018?
Molly Brazy: I plan on touring. I plan on putting out a few more mixtape. I don’t want to make my fans wait too long again. I’m going to travel a lot. I want to have a lot of parties where my fans can come and see me. I want to me more interactive with everyone. Usually, I just like to be out of the way because people be hating, but I’m about to get out here and get to it.
Do you have a message for your supporters and fans, for sticking by you this long?
Molly Brazy: I just want to say that I love them. I’m always going to be here to communicate with them. I never want them to leave.
