15 Hip-Hop Artists To Watch For in 2018
by Staff Editor
Stefflon Don
London-based artist Stefflon Don is one of my faves. I was first introduced to her on Jeremih’s “Late Nights: Europe” project in 2016. Stefflon has had a great year in 2017 and even made it across the pond for her first ever US press run, hitting major stations and outlets like NYC’s Hot 97. When you’re getting love in the states, you know you’re on to something. Her chart-topping single “Hurtin’ Me” featuring French Montana has definitely put her on the radar and with the proper rollouts and as she builds on the moves she’s already made, 2018 will be her year.
Childish Major
Although his debut album, Woo$ah, dropped within the final moments of 2017, Childish Major has all the pieces to make 2018 a huge year for himself. Already amassing a solid following and track record due to his producer works with artists like J. Cole, SZA, and more, it’s his time to shine as the man behind the mic. Proving that he’s capable of delivering lyrical moments, along with crafting radio-friendly tunes, Childish Major is the all-in-one package that is only bound to excel in 2018.
Ski Mask The Slump God
Ski Mask The Slump God has all the correct dosages to fit in with the men that are leading the current carefree wave of Hip Hop. Furthermore, Ski Mask has the skill that exceeds a lot of his peers, which ultimately gives him the edge in earning respect among those that hold a significant amount of weight on lyricism. Spending much time on his Beware Of The Book Of Eli mixtape, which was scheduled for a 2017 release, it appears that it was all for the better with the mixtape now coming in this year. In what could be best described as a volcano that’s moments away from an eruption, Ski Mask The Slump God is about to take Hip Hop by storm.
Lil Xan
In an era where SoundCloud rappers are solidifying their standings, Lil Xan is quickly courting stardom with his melancholy raps. Last year, the 21-year-old amassed a huge following after his breakout hit “Betrayed”.
Young Nudy
If you’re not familiar with Young Nudy, you better get to it. Affiliated with 21 Savage, Nudy made a name for himself not only in his hometown of Atlanta but nationwide with his breakout project Nudy Land. Gaining millions of streams across various platforms, headlining his own tour and finding his way on many festival lineups, 2018 is looking super bright for Nudy. Don’t sleep on this one, you’ll regret it.
