Future wrapped 2017 by releasing his collaborative album with Young Thug and now has fans eyes lurking through Instagram comments for any clues for the release of Beast Mode II. While that may or may not be coming this week, Future is officially revealed to be the producer for the soundtrack of the reboot of the 1972 classic film, Super Fly.

Deadline reports that Future was flagged to do the work for the project, but will have a heavy workload following the ground laid by Curtis Mayfield on the original.

Hip-hop and contributors to the culture will have hands all over the project. Director X will direct the film, while actors Trevor Jackson and Jason Mitchell will be starring in the film. 21 Savage is also currently in talks to join the film.

Director X spoke in regards to the film stating how he found the film’s content of that time to still be relatable to today.

“When I went back and watched the original, I was struck by how relevant the themes are,” said Director X. “The pursuit of the American Dream is eternal – everyone’s always on the hustle, because you’ve got to be… and Superfly is about pulling off the ultimate hustle to get out of the game. Our goal is to make it modern – to make a movie where the style, the art direction, the camera movements are all part of what makes the movie Superfly. With this film, my goal is to honor the lineage of an iconic title that the community has loved for decades.”
