JAY Z family Feud video

Ending 2017 on a high note, Jay Z takes it to church with the latest video from his 13th studio album 4:44. The album, now nominated for multiple Grammy awards including the coveted Album Of The Year’ has made waves in pop culture that had everyone grabbing a surfboard.  Family Feud perhaps the most buzzed about track, unloaded on the Jay Z and Beyoncé’s very private relationship, confirming what many suspected: Beyoncé’s critically accalaimed Lemonade was about a cheating Jay Z.

The song centralizes the idea that “nobody wins when the family feuds” as Jay Z raps about battling the temptation of “Becky”.  The video, released December 29th, exclusively on Tidal, takes place in an ornate catholic church, with Jay Z, Beyoncé and even Blue Ivy making an appearance. Opening with a James Baldwin quote, Jay Z sets a serious tone.

Directed by Ava Duvernay and Jay Z, at just under eight minutes long, the dramtic video displays a sci-fi inspired political drama, starring Michael B. Jordan, Niecy Nash and Rosario Dawson, detailing an America with founding mothers. The diverse group of women discuss the second ammendment, and what it really means to make America great again.

As the short film reaches 2018, we get the beginning of Family Feud where Beyoncé plays the religious role in the pulpit as Jay Z bears his trials and tribualations in the confessional.
