Held at $3 million bond Mystikal, born Michael Tyler faces serious charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping charges. Popular for early 2000s rap hits such as ‘Shake It Fast’ and ‘Danger’ the multi-platinum artist could be sentenced to life in prison, the punishment for first degree rape in Louisiana.
Tyler has been in jail for for months in regards to these allegations before his December 18th not guilty plea. This is not his first run-in with the law. Back in 2004, Tyler was sentenced to six years in jail after pleading guilty to sexual battery.
He is not the only named and accused in the current rape and kidnapping case. Averweone Darnell Hoffman has also been charged with one count first degree rape and one count second degree kidnapping. Tenichia Moneick Wafford has been charged with obstruction in connection with the assault.
All three names will remain in lock-up.
The court appearance Monday will be followed with a court date on January 18 for a hearing, which may include a motion to reduce his $3 million bond.
