Jhene Aiko Remembers Her Brother With The Release Of Her Touching ‘Trip’ Movie

Jhene Aiko appears to be cooking up the release of a new album and fans of the soulful singer couldn’t be happier. Releasing her debut LP, Souled Out, back in 2014, there’s been plenty of occurrences in Jhene’s life since then. Noting that this next studio effort was approached as an art project, Jhene has served up a great piece that conveys just what she means.
Releasing a short film titled, “Trip,” the movie follows Penny (Jhene Aiko) as she deals with the death of her brother. A film that honor’s her brother, Miyagi, who lost his battle to cancer in 2012, key aspects of this film is taken right out of the “Wading” singer’s life.
Leading up to “Trip,” Jhene Aiko released a mission statement regarding the short film, which she referred to as “Map” and can be heard below.
A touching showing, “Trip” is nothing short of a must-watch.
