Best Collaboration:
Chance The Rapper Feat. 2 Chainz & Lil Wayne – No Problem
Chance really had an amazing year, from his musical accomplishments, political activism to community involvement – the man has been on his grind. This single from ‘Coloring Book’ not only took the radio waves by storm and was even captivating enough to snag the trio a Grammy for best rap performance. In my opinion it was one of the most memorable collabs of this year.
Best Male HipHop Artist:
Kendrick Lamar
There’s literally no lack of praise that can be given to this man for the musical genius that he delivered this year with ‘DAMN’. In the current line-up of male rap & hip-hop artists there is no one who even stands close to Kendrick in terms of talent and execution.
Best Female HipHop Artist:
Remy Ma
She’s back and she’s better. Since her release Remy came back on the music scene strong with hit single ‘All The Way Up’, flexed her freestyle muscle own ‘Shether’ and has lended her unique sound to countless other hits as a featured artist.

Best New Artist:

Chance The Rapper
Whether it was Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Steven Colbery you name it… it seems like Chance was relatively everywhere this year sharing his music with the masses. The true definition of the people’s champ, not only using his music for entertainment purposes but also as a way to make change in his community and the nation at large. This was his breakout year as an artist and role model.
Video of the Year:
Solange – Cranes In The Sky
Solange has finally stepped into her own as an artist – her sound and style are unmatched and unduplicated. The ‘Cranes In The Sky’ visual was so moving and touching, one can’t help but to remember it for years to come.
