Benny Boom and LT Hutton

I got to watch the film already, and let me say, it was incredible! His presence, the details, and everything was felt from beginning to end. This film is also said to be the untold story of Tupac Shakur, do you feel like you told the whole story?

Benny Boom: There’s definitely way more cuts from the film that we want to world to see, which will come out when the DVD comes out but over all, we did. I think the film tells the story that we want, and it’s amazing to think of a man who was 25 years-old captivated so many people. We wanted to humanize Pac and that’s exactly what was done.

LT Hutton: Lets be honest, everything that this man went through is a movie. So yes, we 100 percent told everything we wanted to tell, and for us, we accomplished that and much more. We accomplished a journey!

Annie (Kidida Jones) was here earlier, and spoke about how she went to Nigeria and these kids living there knew nothing about English but would recite Tupac lyrics. Based of that, how do you think Tupac resonates worldwide?

Benny Boom: He speaks truth. He’s a tragic figure, we unfortunately lost him and people gravitate towards that because we know we didn’t get everything we should of gotten from him so there’s emptiness there. I think it’s also his words, the life he lived. He did what he said he would do in his music. If it happened to him, we would do it and speak about it. He was very honest. He made hits. Hit records go along way. One hit record and you can tour the whole world for the summer. You can touch lives and connect with people.

LT, you worked with Snoop Dogg, Tupac, and Death Row Records. You witnessed many relationships, one of which was Snoop Dogg and Tupac’s. In the film you show Snoop and Pac’s falling out. Can you tell us more about that?

LT Hutton:  Honestly, I think that if you didn’t get into it with Tupac then you didn’t know him, and that was part of his life. It was fanatic like that. Growing up, Pac didn’t have that father figure so he created a clash with everyone and everything he went through in life. From Biggie, to Jada, to Snoop, and everything he was accused of. It was in him to do that and that was a big part of the film. We showed all his troubles, his fights, and his success as a person, poetic, and an activist.
