The streaming war has been an exciting battle to witness over the last few years as everyone from Apple Music, to Spotify, to TIDAL has been crafting ideas and opportunities to separate themselves from each other.

One popular streaming service that’s currently transitioning from 100% completely free music streaming, to a paid option, is SoundCloud. In a recent press release, the streaming service announced new plans to allow DJs and producers to earn revenue through their mixes and playlists.

“Beginning today, DJs and producers who create sets, remixes and other forms of creative works will now be invited to join our SoundCloud Premier program, and earn revenue for the tracks they share on SoundCloud,” the press release revealed.

At this point in time, SoundCloud Premier is an “invite only” program, however SoundCloud has plans to expand the number of people they invite daily. Any plan to get more people paid in the music industry is something we can certainly get behind.
