What is your creative process when writing music?
Wifisfuneral: First and foremost, I’m a writer. I don’t really like the whole freestyle process. However, as far as the process of creating my music, it has to go off the beat. If I really like the beat then I’m just going to hop on it then and there. And if I’m not writing, then I have to be typing it in my phone for it to process it well.
Your single “It Don’t Matter” and new project Black Heart Revenge have been picking up a lot of buzz since it’s release. Talk to us about that single and that project.
Wifisfuneral: When we did Black Heart Revenge last year, it was a really cool process. I would definitely have to say that was the project that got out feet wet into the industry (if you may say). It grabbed the attention of a lot of people and had them wondering who this kid was, and the making of it was definitely crazy as well. During that time, I was going through a lot of stuff. Overall, I’m just glad we put out a really dope project, which only motivated us even more. At the end of the day, we’re just focusing on the growth. Staying in our own lane, and dominating it.
What key lessons have you learned early on?
Wifisfuneral: Some key lessons I’ve learned early on in my career would be to never trust anyone and to not listen to what anybody has to say other than yourself.
What are your goals for the rest of 2017?
Wifisfuneral: I have so much planned for 2017, just stay tuned because a lot of big things are going to happen this year. I hope people don’t take their eyes off me because I’m about to make some major moves and continue picking up buzz. There’s always people saying ‘you’re dope and all but…’ and it’s time for me to take that ‘but’ out of their sentences.
