It’s rare to hear women being the ones pushing off love, but Kehlani lets it be known in “Do U Dirty.” She’s not too shy to admit that she recognizes all the wrongs she’s done to someone, but at the same isn’t sorry. It’s not pride that makes the song so entertaining, but her nonchalant acceptance of who she is and doing what she wants.

Love is found again in “Undercover.” The undeniable chemistry between the young 21-year old songstress and her beau puts her in pure euphoria. Being the rebel she is, regardless of the opinions of others, Kehlani is not letting anything get in the way of her happiness.

“CRZY”

Where would the list be without “CRZY?” The energy and gangster attitude Kehalani carries throughout the song matched her music video perfectly! She shows there’s nothing wrong with being a “bad b****” if that’s exactly who you are. This song is a proclamation of being a strong woman no matter what the opposition.

“Not Used To It”

Kehlani opens up about growing up during tough times. Not having her mother or father around didn’t help with she was constantly losing a loved one to gun violence. “Not Used To It” paints the picture of her wanting to open up to someone who cares, but because of her checkered past of disappointment in the people closest to her, it’s almost impossible.

“In My Feelings”

Sometimes love can be brainwashing and Kehlani is experiencing this in “In My Feelings,” which samples New Edition’s “If It Isn’t Love.” She feels “stuck on” someone she knows isn’t giving her what she needs. While it should be easy to leave and someone who will give her the affection she deserves, there’s something that keeps her coming back all these years.
