However, it wouldn’t be a KDAY concert without any surprise and rumors. Folks began talking about a potential appearance from Tha Dogg Pound, and to a degree, they weren’t wrong. Romeo and Jaz of the 93.5 morning show got the crowd on their feet when they introduced Long Beach’s own Kurupt to the stage.

Although there was no sign of Snoop Dogg, the audience quickly got up from their chairs as Kurupt ran through some of his biggest anthems to date including “What Would You Do,” “Who Ride With Us,” and of course, the ultimate West Coast classic “Ain’t No Fun.” By the incessant cheering from the audience, the energy had reached an all-time high, and everyone was vibing with one another.

Too $hort continued the turn up and brought the late 90s/early 00s nostalgic vibes to the venue. The Oakland rapper took it back to the peak of his career performing “Freaky Tales,” “Don’t Fight The Feeling,” and “Gangsters and Strippers.” The crowd continued dancing along and chanting to Too $hort’s infamous “Blow The Whistle” and “Shake That Monkey.”
