Lanez explained the influence of his Caribbean background with his music for songs like, “Luv.” There was also a moment when they talked about his relationship with fellow Canadian superstar, Justin Bieber.

“That kid’s a busy kid, like he’s everywhere…He helped me with a lot of s***…One time he had some dude randomly hit me up. This was when I wasn’t verified on Twitter and he got me verified.”

Tory also explained that he wanted I Told You to be an album that will help fans understand him. Especially following social media judgements about him being “cocky.”
