troy ave released on bail

The Troy Ave saga has been one for the history books, and it just took an interesting turn.

While the rapper still awaits his own trial from the shooting that took place at Irving Plaza this past May, Troy and his team plan to file a lawsuit of their own against Irving Plaza and Live Nation for allowing guns to come into the venue, causing the fatal shooting of Troy’s bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.

The rapper is alleging that the venue and the promoter had a security breach by allowing the weapons into the club, which led to the aforementioned death of his bodyguard, and essentially Troy’s attempted murder charge.

“Their lack of security led to him being shot,” a source on the rapper’s team said Monday (8/8).

Troy still waits for his trial and his bail currently has him wearing a monitoring bracelet and is preventing him from traveling outside of the NY area. Troy has been the only person charged so far from the incident and the District Attorney for NY has also not ruled Troy out for the murder of Banga.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information surfaces on Troy’s lawsuit against Irving Plaza and Live Nation, as well as his own case.
