In just a week and a half, Austin, Texas will once again be taken over for the annual SXSW Music, Film and Interactive festival. To add even more excitement to the already highly-anticipated event, it has just been announced that President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will serve as Keynote speakers at this year’s event.

President Obama’s involvement will come on March 11th when he sits down with Evan Smith, CEO/EIC of The Texas Tribune for a discussion on the future of technology, entrepreneurship and will also field questions from the audience. This event will serve as part of SXSW’s Interactive segment.

Then, on March 16th, FLOTUS will arrive at SX to discuss her Let Girls Learn initiative, in light of Women’s History Month (March). The goal of the initiative is to break barriers for the millions of girls worldwide who lack education, and during SXSW, FLOTUS will bring the music industry together to understand this issue.

All Gold & Platinum badge members for SXSW will have access to these two events. Will you be at SXSW this year?
