For those of you who don’t know who Belly is, you’ll want to get familiar with him right away. The man who joined forces with The Weeknd to form their XO imprint has just signed a deal with Jay Z and Roc Nation. The Canadian emcee plans to release his first album with the label early 2016.
Belly has made quite a name for himself up north, specifically with the aforementioned The Weeknd. The XO imprint was established in 2012 and clearly The Weeknd has made monstrous waves since. Next up is Belly, according to The Weeknd, who recently took to Instagram, “can’t put into words how proud I am. 2016 gonna be bumpin @belly.”
To add to his list of accolades, Belly also co-wrote six of the songs on The Weeknd’s record-breaking album Beauty Behind The Madness, including “The Hills,” “Often” and “Earned It,” three of the top tracks.
