Freeway has reportedly been diagnosed with kidney failure recently, and the rapper has had to undergo emergency dialysis.

According to Revolt, the former Roc-A-Fella rap star received the diagnosis during a routine checkup with a doctor, and is set to be going through the treatment process starting today.

The site reported, “Someone close to Free’s camp exclusively told REVOLT the rapper was rushed in for an emergency dialysis after the discovery. As of this writing, he is currently resting and expected to receive another round of the treatment tomorrow (September 18).”

The news is certainly shocking for his longtime fans, and we know the hip-hop community will keep him in their prayers.

UPDATE: Freeway was reportedly scheduled to perform at FreeFest this weekend, but there’s no word on whether he will still be able to touch the stage.

Most recently via Instagram, the “Flipside” lyricist updated his fans to let everyone know he’s bouncing back. “Thank you all for your prayers and support! I’m doing much better! Soon as I’m 100% #FREEFEST is back on!!!! Salaams!” Looks like FreeFest is back! Get well soon Freeway.
