So we had an excellent Straight Outta Compton biopic, a sequel is already in development, Outkast alerted us that their story is possible to hit the silver screen and a biopic for Tupac is coming to life, what else could we ask for? How about the origins of Def Jam?

Deadline reports, Universal Studios, the powerhouse behind the story of N.W.A., want Jonah Hill and Michael B. Jordan to star in a biopic on the start of the iconic hip-hop label. If it would go according to Universal’s wish Jordan would take on the role of Russell Simmons while Hill would star as Rick Rubin.

The film would receive it’s details from Simmons and Nelson George’s co-written book Life and Def: Sex, Drugs, Money, + God, focusing on the affect of the label within the culture during it’s rise.
