Wiz Khalifa’s Hit Single ‘See You Again’ Ties For Longest-Leading Rap Number 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100
by Staff Editor
No surprise here! Wiz Khalifa’s smash hit “See You Again” is making major moves on the Billboard charts as the very popular single has officially tied the record of being the longest-running #1 hip-hop single to make the Billboard Hot 100 chart ever.
The Paul Walker-tribute has been going strong for 12 weeks straight now and has shattered record after record. Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s heart-felt hit is tied with Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” (2002) and the Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow” (2009), proving just how miraculous this achievement really is.
Billboard states that Khalifa’s hit “faces a serious challenge from OMI’s “Cheerleader”: it pushes 3-2 and trails “Again” by a narrow margin this week (with “Again” down by 8 percent in overall activity and “Cheerleader” up by 8 percent).”
It will be amazing to see how far “See You Again” will soar on the Billboard charts. In the meantime watch the video for “See You Again” below. — Jibri Bailey
