Amy Documentary

I can’t be the only one who misses Amy Winehouse. The documentary on the late British singer’s life, Amy, will be available for viewing in theaters this Friday but you can catch a preview to the film in a clip featuring Mark Ronson. The three-minute video shows Winehouse and Ronson in a recording session back in March 2006 as she recorded her single “Back to Black.”

Sharing her experience Winehouse states that was needed for her to be able to write a song affectively.

“When you write a song, you have to remember how you felt,” Winehouse stated. “You might have to remember what the weather was like. You might have to remember what his neck smiled like. You have to remember all of it.”

Adding to the background of the “Back to Black” creation, Mark Ronson details remembering stories from Winehouse and she completed the song, with melodies, in two to three hours.

Check out the recording session above and be sure to check out where you can see Amy in a theater near you.
