Civil Interview: tWitch Talks Joining ‘Magic Mike XXL’ Cast, First Waxing Experience & Favorite Dance Movies
by Staff Editor
Despite being a dancer for years now, did you learn any new moves that you can use to seduce a woman?
tWitch: I didn’t necessarily learn new moves, but I did learn more or less a new approach. It was about the confidence to be sexy. I don’t really think of myself as a sexy, seductive dude. More than anything I’ve learned the confidence and the approach.
How do you feel about men stripping in comparison to women? Society views them pretty differently, even though they’re supposed to serve the same purpose.
tWitch: Yeah, I mean it’s a double standard. One big difference is that I feel like a place like Chippendale’s is more a place to go with a group of friends, and the lap dance is more embarrassing. Where as, it’s completely different on the other side.
How would you feel about your own potential lady getting a lap dance from a male stripper now that you’ve been in the shoes of one?
tWitch: I don’t know if I could necessarily watch it. I think it’d be fine with it, and it’s all in good fun.
There are so many iconic dance movies we’ve seen over the years. From Dirty Dancing and Save The Last Dance, to the Step Up series that you were part of, which one would you want to go back in time and be part of?
tWitch: If they were going to remake the Breakin’ series, I would want to be part of that. That would be amazing. Even though it wasn’t a dance film per say, but it was part of the culture, I would say House Party. That’s like a classic, staple film. There’s even some iconic dancing in there with the Kid N’ Play move. If they brought something like that back, that would be amazing.
Which role would you want to play?
tWitch: I’d want to be Play. Or I might even be Martin Lawrence’s character, the DJ.
