Favorite artists to work with?
Pricetag: Honestly, Phony People. We’re doing this film with them, and this project with it called The Love Injection. That was my first time ever recording with the full band. That was probably the most incredible feeling ever, so I would say them right now.
Oktane: Maybe Jill Scott. She can do no wrong to me.
How do you feel about the ‘XXL’ Freshmen cover?
Oktane: I feel like they don’t pick freshman anymore, I want to get our own XXL cover.
Pricetag: I’m not against it because it definitely gives platform for dope artists like Vince Staples and all the others.
Oktane: I’m just not shooting to get it.
Pricetage: It’s not for groups too. I just think it should be more of a situation where it’s really rappers, freshmen, but hey.
Oktane: It should be regulated. But keep doing y’all thing.
What do you both think will be the summer anthem?
Pricetag: I’m not even going to cheat and say our stuff. Honestly, I think this song is going to be crazy for this summer, other than every crazy freakin’ mixtape Future has put out – it’s this song called “If You Ain’t Got No Haters You Ain’t Poppin’.” I believe that’s going to be huge this summer.
Oktane: Yeah, that one, and my morning song period is “Coffee,” by Miguel.
Was so excited to read this and can most definitely say Lindsey India absolutely killed it with these interviews at the BET Awards. I’m super excited to see what these artists have in store for the future!
