How was it being on the XXL Freshmen cover?
It was cool. It’s appreciated when it comes to things like that. It just shows that something you’re doing is right. Somebody sees something in you. It’s just good to be in the presence of good artists. Everything you worked for is getting some recognition.
Who else do you think should have made it?
I mean, it’s a lot of people that should have made it. The crazy thing about it is that they make a cover every year, so you never know when they’re going to be on it. I feel like I should have been on it before, and everyone thought they should have been on it before. Everyone thinks they should have been on it. We have these arguments about Lil’ Herb and Mick Jenkins, but their time is definitely coming. Even if it’s not, they don’t need it any way. We all got the support of our fans, but it’s still a good thing to happen.
Who do you want to collaborate with next?
We’re trying to get a Soul For Real collab, and this Bobby Brown verse. Maybe some Chris Brown or something like that. I don’t really focus on features. It’s all about making the best song, so whoever make the best song that’s who we working with.
Was so excited to read this and can most definitely say Lindsey India absolutely killed it with these interviews at the BET Awards. I’m super excited to see what these artists have in store for the future!
