Here’s A Recap Of Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2015
by Staff Editor
Summer Jam 2015 is officially in the books, and what an event it was. Taking place in Met Life Stadium in New Jersey per usual, Hot 97 put together one of the most memorable shows in recent history.
On the Festival Stage, we saw the likes of Dej Loaf, Teyana Taylor, B.o.B., Fetty Wap, Joey Bada$$, Travi$ Scott and more shut things down. Fetty had his hometown rocking, Dej received high praise from her east coast fans and while Travi$ Scott gave us his usual craziness on the stage, he did receive some flack for humiliating one of Summer Jam’s photographers, calling him a “nerd” and telling him to get the “f*ck off the stage.” He later apologized.
Then, it was the Main Stage, where things got super interesting. Omarion started things off, followed by Ty Dolla $ign who brought out Dej Loaf and Wiz Khalifa as a part of his set. Next was Trigga Trey, who had every single female in attendance going nuts. Being in the stadium itself, you realize what kind of impact Trey has on the crowd.
After Trey came out, Chris Brown hit the stage and brought some friends with him including 50 Cent and G-Unit and French Montana, who paid homage to Chinx in a major way. Then it was the Fabolous and Friends set, where Fab brought out every veteran NY rapper from Method Man and Redman, to Mobb Deep, to Remy Ma and Fat Joe, etc. It was beyond epic, especially for the New York crowd.
To close out the show, we saw Kendrick Lamar, who brought along the TDE camp (minus Jay Rock and Isaiah Rashad), Big Sean who did his performance alone, and finally Meek Mill who brought out his boo Nicki Minaj and Future. They shut down things in a major way. Fetty Wap and Troy Ave made their way to the stage after Meek, sort of confusing the crowd.
With that being said, take a look on the following page at some of the performance footage from yesterday’s event and watch Hot 97’s official recap above.
