Today, Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby announces (via CNN) that the six police officers involved in the murder of Freddie Gray have been indicted. “The officers are scheduled to be arraigned on July 2,” said Mosby. But that’s not all, attorneys for the officers have called for Mosby to be taken off the case, arguing that she has conflicts of interest — an accusation the State’s attorney denies.

Gray’s death earlier last month (April) after allegedly suffering a devastating back injury while in police custody sparked protests and riots in Baltimore, Maryland.

Earlier this month, Mosby said that charges had been filed against six officers in Gray’s death, an unexpected announcement that brought emotional cheers from protesters.
