JAY: Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are currently hip-hop’s new favorite couple. That’s the cold hard facts. While that could change in the blink of an eye due to the short attention span of hip-hop fans, there’s really no denying the power of Omeeka.

Nicki Minaj is clearly the biggest female hip-hop artist in the game right now and has owned that role for quite some time. It seems like whatever she touches turns to gold and her love life has always been a point of interest.

As far as Meek goes, ever since he got out of jail several months ago, the spotlight’s been directly on the MMG spitter and it feels like the entire industry’s in his corner. Put these two together? Damage can surely be done. Plus, the suspense of the rumored “engagement” and the fake lowkey-ness of Omeeka’s relationship thus far makes it all that more exciting.

Besides, what other celeb couples are in the running for the top spot right now? Future and Ciara would’ve been a good competitor, but they broke up. Big Sean and Ariana Grande split. Remy Ma and Papoose have been married for years and no longer own the “favorite couple” role. And of course, the obvious competitor is Jay Z and Beyoncé, but let’s face it, we’re used to the power of Bey-Z; it’s time for a new pair to take the throne.

As I mentioned before, hip-hop fans have incredibly short attention spans and short periods of being interested in something, so while it could all change in an instant, right this very second, it’s safe to say Omeeka is most definitely hip-hop’s new favorite couple.
