Civil Court (Sports Edition): Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao
by Staff Editor
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the best pound for pound fighter in the history of the world. That’s just the cold hard truth.
The general of the Money Team is 47-0. Forty Seven and Zero. That’s absolutely insane. Out of that 47 wins, 26 of them (which is more than half) were knockouts. So for my first jab to the Floyd Mayweather naysayers, don’t waste my time with the “he’s only a defensive” boxer.
Sure, that’s Floyd’s strong point — his defensive ability — but don’t act like he won’t land a slew of punches to Manny this Saturday. Let’s just hope Manny doesn’t forget to leave his guard up so Floyd doesn’t do him worse than Juan Manuel Marquez did.
For a fight that’s taken almost 6 years to make happen, Floyd Mayweather appears to be incredibly focused from what we can see in the ESPN all access videos that have released. The hunger in his eyes, the hard work we see in his training is just unmatched. I’m not insinuating that Manny’s not working just as hard, but from the looks of things, Manny’s busy filming commercials and enjoying the spotlight. Not smart, Manny. Not smart.
The bottom line is this: Floyd Mayweather is the best boxer in the history of the sport and that’ll be once again proven when he defeats Manny Pacquiao and wins his 48th consecutive match. Boxing fans will be witnessing the greatest fight in the history of boxing on May 2nd. Don’t miss out.
