Future

JAY: While there are several artists capable of taking over the summer this year, my eyes are set on one of the most consistent hitmakers in the land, Future. Let’s recap his end of 2014 and beginning of 2015 thus far:

At the end of 2014, Future unleashed a fiery mixtape deemed Monster, which was filled with banger after banger, thanks to Future’s pen and the high quality production from 808 Mafia, Metro Boomin, etc. Songs like “Fucc Up Some Commas” were on the aforementioned project and it’s safe to say that song alone has potential to take over the summer. A few months later in January of this year, Future let loose another mixtape titled Beast Mode in collaboration with Zaytoven. A surefire success, to say the least.

Thought that was it? Think again. Future then went above and beyond and gave us another surprise mixtape in March alongside DJ Esco titled 56 Nights, which officially confirmed that Future was back better then ever. It’s only been three months! He’s also got a new project titled Ape Shit with Mike WiLL Made It expected to drop this year. He won’t quit!

Not to mention, in addition to the onslaught of releases, Future is set to go on a 6-city tour with Drake starting next month in addition to his own “Monster vs. Beast Mode” tour named after two of his three aforementioned mixtapes also starting next month. All of which was announced yesterday. Talk about anticipation.

So, what have we learned? When Future wants to be consistent, he has no problem of doing so. We’ve also been reassured of his ability to make hit records like he’s done so far this year and the end of last, and now we can expect to see him on several different stages this summer.

It’s time to continue the takeover, Future. Summer 2015 is yours for the taking.
