Tink Delivers Her ‘Ratchet Commandments’
by Staff Editor
With a nod to the Notorious BIG, Tink modernizes a page from his “Ten Crack Commandments” and delivers her “Ratchet Commandments.” Her step-by-step instructions may inform us on just what it requires to be ratchet, but the 19-year-old femcee does not condone the behavior.
“I thought we had some young queens, what you mean / We act belligerent / Generation of ignorance / Bitches live for the ‘gram, so their life ain’t got no significance,” she rhymes.
Carving her own lane, Tink will release her debut album this year via Mosley Music Group/Epic Records. “People overlook [female rappers] or they don’t take us as seriously as male artists,” she told V Magazine. “And I get it—so many female artists just try to be like Nicki Minaj. I think it’s breaking those layers and showing that there are different voices out there.”
