Aside from any other G-Unit projects, what’s Kidd Kidd working on these days?

Kidd Kidd: Right now I’m focusing on my album because I already got so many mixtapes done. I’m gonna give y’all the Fuck The Fame project first because I feel like that project sounds more “right now,” you know what I’m saying? I’ve been promoting Street Fame for a minute, and I feel like the music on Street Fame is more geared towards an album so I’m still figuring out what I want to do with it.

You have a date for Fuck The Fame yet?

Kidd Kidd: I’m gonna come with the date right after The Beast drops. You never know, man. The Beast drops on the 3rd, my shit might drop on the 4th, you feel me?

For our readers who don’t know, you were running around with Lil Wayne back in the day and were even featured on the “Mrs. Officer” single. What was it like working with him? Were you ever officially signed to him?

Kidd Kidd: I was never really signed to Young Money or anything. It was more like, ‘oh you got skills, cool, roll with us.’ I’ve been around Wayne since like 2002 when we were doing hella mixtapes and shit. The Squad mixtapes. That was the original Young Money. [It was] me, him, Gudda Gudda, T. Streets. So yeah, that was big in the South. So when people come up to me like, ‘yo Kidd, I’ve been fucking with you since the Squad days’ — that’s when I know you’re a real fan.

What’s the status of Rida Gang?

Kidd Kidd: Man, it’s so crazy. I started off with my artist Tyson G-Strip and then he was killed. Rest in Peace to Tyson, man. But yeah, my artists are people who I came up with for real. Not like I met you through the music and we connected that way. My main artist that I’m focusing on right now though is Young Ells. He’s a super workaholic and a young n**ga working, so free Young Ells, he just went to jail. That’s how it is down there in New Orleans. It’s so easy to get caught up, man, so I’m just waiting for that moment when I can go get them outta there for real. It’s hard to tell a man to just chill, just chill, when I’m not there every day. Can’t forget my man Gunna either. That’s the muscle for real. That’s about it artists wise, man. Rida Gang was never supposed to be a rap group, you feel me? But now that I’m doing that, I’m most definitely gonna rep it in my raps.
