Now Concealed, what makes this mixtape different from your last projects?

Yo Gotti: A lot of people know me from Cocaine series mixtape, it ain’t like none of them. I do all the mixtapes kind’ve quick but I did this one real quick because I thought about doing it last minute. I wasn’t going to put it out then just out of the blue I wanted to put it out. I was in Chicago doing a show for New Years and I booked the studio for two days then I stayed out there an extra day or so and just knocked it out.

In “Real Rap,” you shout out Yonkers. Is there a neighborhood in Memphis that reminds you of Yonkers?

Yo Gotti: Man, north Memphis. That’s the home of the Triple Cross. I feel like if you can survive in North Memphis, man you can survive anywhere.  If you can survive all the vultures and savages in North Memphis I feel like I should be able to walk in any hood and peep people coming from a mile away or sense when something ain’t right or when there’s some bullshit in the air. That’s what we come from. We come from the bullshit.

You’re hitting 2015 with two projects, are Concealed and The Art of Hustle related or are they two stand alone projects?

Yo Gotti: I feel like they’re two different projects but Concealed is definitely the set up for The Art of Hustle. It’s to get you ready and it’s for my core base fans who feel like it may have been a little too long; this is something to keep you cool until The Art of Hustle drop. My goal for 2015 is to put out four projects under CMG.

All from you or including your other artists?

Yo Gotti: Between me, Snootie [Wilds], Wave Chapelle, maybe a group thing and if things run right maybe I do two.

Two, like another mixtape or album?

Yo Gotti: Albums. Ain’t no more mixtapes right now. You got Concealed right now, you need to hold onto it.

What can you tell us about The Art of Hustle?

Yo Gotti: The Art of Hustle goin’ be a classic. I put a lot of time into it and I got so much songs. Really that’s the biggest hold up on it. I might have what I’m going to turn in as the completed album and then next month I do 30 more songs so it’s like I want to swap eight of them out. Between me and my team – because I am a team player – we goin back and forth and there’s just too many great records.

Is there a record in particular that you’re most excited for your fans to hear?

Yo Gotti: I got a record to my mother that’s very personal to me and I think I have a lot of fans that live the same struggles and have the same views as I do so that’s a good record for them. I got a record called “Get Out Your Feelings” that’s crazy.
