Tracee Ellis Ross schools Seth Meyers on the pronunciation of her rap name, T Murda, last night (Feb. 11) during her appearance on the late show. Letting him know both the T and M are capitalized, the beautiful actress discusses the origins of her rap persona.

“Every once and awhile I’ll think to myself what am I singing about and am I saying something offensive towards women, towards myself,” she explains. “I think the first one was ‘Flex Zone’ and I wanted to know what the flex song was. A friend of mine told me about an app on the iPhone, I think it was Rap Genius, and I consider myself a smart human being. I can read and stuff so I read along and I started video taping myself to the lyrics. I’ll tell you, even with reading along I still don’t know what the songs mean. Although I don’t understand what I’m necessary saying I’m very lyrical.”

The lyrical genius goes on to explain what being name dropped by Kanye West meant to her, watch above.
