Beyonce had to be one of the many highlights of the 57th Annual Grammy Awards last night, and she is making sure her Beyhive gets the full package from it all.

Releasing a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary from prepping the performance, the 4 singer dives into why she wanted to sing the song from the Selma soundtrack, and what it means to her. She revealed that she heard Mahalia Jackson sing it when she was younger, and also told the story of how her grandparents marched with Martin Luther King Jr.

Speaking of the track, “First time I heard ‘Precious Lord’ I was a kid and my mother sang it to me, and my mother played me Mahalia Jackson’s version. She sang the song with her eyes closed, and she was a vessel, and it was like God speaking using her body to speak and to heal.”

As far as the men singing with Bey on stage, they were all chosen by her team, and have been through various struggles as minority. Many of them shared their experiences in the documentary, which is about 8 minutes long.
