Amid rumors, famous daddy Mathew Knowles is in the works of teaming up with Sony to produce a Destiny’s Child biopic. Knowles sat down with the Wall Street Journal to confirm that he is in the works of making the biopic.

“Destiny’;s Child as you know is the number one selling female group in the history of music,” he said. “And their story really engages you. It talks about their challenges, their successes, their failures.”

The biopic would focus on Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams from their start as a young, R&B group from Houston to their triumph with songs like “Bootylicious” and “Survivor.” Bey’s dad says his team has creative control of their story and that he would love to have the ladies involved with the project.

Despite the ladies all living very productive lives as solo artists, he goes on to explain that fans should not be surprised if Destiny’s Child drops new music or launches a world tour because they have never “officially” called it quits. “Most people don’t know that I still manage Destiny’s Child,” he said. “The group has never officially broke up.”

The biopic doesn’t have an official release date. Do you think Destiny’s Child will support the project?
