AJ And Free Address Dating Rumors And 106 & Park’s Final Act
by Staff Editor
A lot of rumors were started by this show, like when Beyonce surprised Jay Z during his interview, and people started speculating them being a couple. What were some of the craziest rumors you remember coming from the show?
Free: Me and AJ sleeping together. People thought that forever. That used to be kind of funny, because we truly are like family to this day. That was the one that was weird to me. They still ask me! Somebody tried to ask me earlier!
What was your most star struck moment on the show?
AJ: I would say when Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown surprised us. That was like the first time we were like, “Oh, this is real!”
Free: Janet Jackson came and I was hype because I used to do all of her moves. So she came out and I was starstuck. Luther Vandross as well.
AJ: Yeah, Luther was big!
During your guys’ last show years ago, you were extremely emotional that episode. You seem pretty positive today. What are your emotions like right now for the very last show?
AJ: I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. It’s the end of an era. It’s the end of music television. It’s the end of the way a lot of people grew up. We started in 2000. There’s no more TRL, or any other real music countdown shows. We became the number one video show in America out of nowhere.
Free: We took over! We shut TRL down! That was a really important moment in the history of the show. We’re really happy to be here. We’re happy to be involved.
