D’Angelo hasn’t released an album since 2000’s critically acclaimed Voodoo. We may no longer be able to say that after as soon as next week. According to reports, the singer could release Black Messiah, his next album, in collaboration with the Vanguard, as early as next week.

Up until now, all we had was word from his manager, Kevin Liles, saying that an album was “definitely” coming in 2014.

No official word on a release, but “Black Messiah is Coming” has made its rounds around the internet lately and we’ve stumbled across a 15-second trailer as well as what appears to be a picture of a physical copy of the project.

If we’re to hold Liles to his word, and hold these hints to their value, we may see a new project from D’Angelo soon. There isn’t too much time left in 2014.
