Hot 97 and Power 105.1 have been at each other’s throats for as long as we can remember, so when Angie Martinez decided to leave the former to join the latter, we knew history was being made. From on-air disses from DJ to DJ, to which station gets the exclusives from your favorite rappers, it’s safe to say Hot and Pow 105 are mortal enemies. Angie Martinez, who was not only the Queen of Hot 97, but also the Queen of Hip-Hop radio in general, made it clear that now was the time for her to change paths. The entire Hot 97 crew showed their gratitude to Angie and had no hard feelings with her decision. As for Pow 105, well let’s just say they signed the LeBron James of talk radio.
