Fans have been anxiously waiting for your debut album to come out. What was the anticipation like to finally releasing it?

Stalley:  It was so much anticipation for everyone who supported me from day one. A lot of people have been asking me these last couple of weeks, “How you feeling? How you feeling?” I can’t really explain it. It’s excitement. It’s happiness. It’s like victory, you know what I’m saying? It’s a beautiful thing. I’m really speechless.

Some people might look at the album title ‘Ohio’ as just the place where you’re from. What made you want to choose that as the name of the project?

Stalley: Everything instilled in me as far as my morals, personality traits, the way I carry myself, or whatever it might be, it’s important that people know that Ohio raised me and made me into that man. I think the most unselfish thing I could do was name the album Ohio. I just wanted the world to know that we’re here, we ain’t going nowhere, we have an artist, we have a sound, and it’s forever. I just wanted to give that life-lasting impression on the world. I’m praying that I reach the Billboard charts, and you see Ohio at the top!

A fan favorite on this album is “What It Be Like” with Nipsey. How did you guys link up for it?

Stalley: That’s my homie right there. Everybody that’s on the album with me actually is a friend. If we don’t vibe, or if we’re not friends, I don’t really do music with them. As a friend, Nipsey invited me to his studio in LA just to hear some music. We didn’t really have the intentions of putting him on any record. He told me, “Yo, I’ve been hearing through people that the album is crazy, and I would love to hear it.” I told him that I would stop by and play him a few records. I played him a few records, and then I turned that one on, and he said, “I gotta get on this!” I just told him feel free, and he dropped his verse, and that’s how it happened.
