Beeda Weeda Civil Scope

The album was presented by Too $hort, how is the relationship between you and him?

Beeda Weeda: That’s like my Uncle, man. I actually took a break from rap for a minute and that kind of slowed down my momentum and my career. I got distracted by the streets. Too Short got me motivated and back rocking. When we really hooked up I had a song with Gunplay from MMG and I wanted him on it, so I hit him up, slid through the studio and he hopped on it. Ever since then he told me to come in the studio and then he took me on the road with him and he would bring me out in the middle of the show, let me rock a song and go back to doing what he do. He lit the fire back under me again. He really inspired me to get back in the game and go hard.

The single “Hella Turnt” features Short and E-40 on the upcoming album The Storm with Big Hud, what can we look forward to in the rest of the album?

Beeda Weeda:  Radio songs and mainstream songs, but it’s more of a street album. Me and Hud have a real mainstream commercial feel to it. So we have a got a lot of big records like “Hella Turnt.” Going to be a lot of big energy club records. A lot of records for the women. We got Ritz on there, B Legit on there, Lil Ronnie, who got one of the hottest songs out right now, that “Throw That Ass In A Circle.” Going to be a real fun album.

You are from East Oakland and Big Hud is from Dallas. How did you two link up?

Beeda Weeda: I was going out to Texas and I told Mister FAB I was going out there and he told me, “when you got out there link up with my dude Big Hud.” Our chemistry worked and once we got to know each other we saw we had the same ambition and knocked out a mixtape, tossed it on Datpiff and it did real well. Hud already had a situation with RVC Records. They wanted to put out a solo album with me, a solo album with Hud and then the group album. All of this was the build up to the group album.

Following The Storm, what is the next step?

Beeda Weeda: I want to focus on more singles. After me and Hud drop our project, I still want to push my project. They going crazy off this Bass Rock Babies, by the way. I’m number two in the Bay, top seller in Sacramento. They calling this thing a classic. I want to continue to push it and make sure it’s pushed throughout the country. I got a couple mixtapes I put to the side that’s going to be done but my main focus is working on big singles and really attacking this radio, really trying to take it to the next level.
