Kendrick Lamar Blames The Media For ‘Control’ Blowing Up Like It Did

Coming off the release of his brand new single “I,” Kendrick Lamar stopped by Big Boy’s Neighbordhood on Power 106 to discuss a slew of things, one being the 1-year anniversary of his infamous “Control” verse.
K. Dot says he never expected “Control” to blow up the way that it did and he blames the media for people thinking his intentions were that of disrespect. “When I went in to do the verse, I just thought I was having fun, you know?” says the TDE general. Kendrick went on to acknowledge that hip-hop hadn’t been shooken up like that in a long time and he also says his relationship with the likes of J. Cole and Drake are exactly where they were at before the verse. For the sake of music, that’s good to know.
